At Gynger we have been honored with the award of ‘2024 Best Places to Work in the New York startup category by Built In! This achievement isn't just a recognition of our innovative solutions, it's a testament to the culture we've been able to build.

All corporate cultures start with a mission. Our mission is to combine software with capital to enable businesses to scale with the technology they love. At Gynger, we don't just write down a lofty mission statement and walk away; our mission is the driving force behind everything we do.

But a mission alone isn’t enough. How do we work together as a team towards our shared goals? Our corporate values are what help us stay true to our mission, guide our decisions, and build our culture.

Win Together - The Power of Collaboration

"Move, grow, and win as a team" is a philosophy that defines us. To illustrate this, we set a very high sales bar for Q2 and it took the entire team working together - BDR, sales, partnerships, marketing, product, engineering, and credit - to get it over the finish line. In fact, we closed on the last deal on June 30th at 11:49pm. We would not have made our goal without everyone firing on all cylinders until the last moment. This is how we win together. Our collaborative spirit has not only made us more productive, but has also created a workplace where success is a team effort.

Be Accountable - Owning Our Success and Learning from Challenges

Accountability - "to yourself, to your team, and to your customers" - is the cornerstone of our success. I’ll share a personal challenge:

Recruiting for certain key hires turned out to be quite difficult. Initially, we went through a few iterations of the job profile, each time thinking we had the right fit, but we kept realizing that the needs of the role were evolving. We had to pivot, refine the skills and experience we were looking for, and even re-evaluate the team’s overall structure. Each iteration taught us something new about what the company truly needed and what qualities would lead to success in the role. It wasn't until we embraced those lessons and adjusted our approach that we found the perfect matches.

This process underscored the importance of staying flexible, learning from setbacks, and ultimately owning both the failures and the success. Being accountable isn't just a buzzword for us; it's a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Stay Curious - Our Hunger for Knowledge

"Dig deep and always thirst for knowledge" encapsulates our relentless pursuit of growth. This is true across all teams at Gynger, but a recent sales pitch comes to mind. A Gynger sales team member was working with a tech startup that had very unique financing needs. Instead of offering a standard solution, they spent time researching the startup’s industry and uncovered a creative way Gynger could integrate with their existing tech stack, addressing a pain point the client hadn't even considered. This proactive approach not only secured the deal but led to the creation of a new product feature, thanks to their thirst for knowledge and drive to dig deeper. Staying curious isn't just about staying relevant; it's about shaping the future of our industry.

Listen to Understand - Connecting Beyond Words

"Uncover what is really being communicated" goes beyond hearing words; it's about truly understanding each other. Over the course of the past year, we’ve incorporated dozens of product features that came from listening to our clients and investors. Listening to understand is the key to fostering meaningful connections with our customers, partners, vendors, investors and - of course - Gynger teammates.

Go Above & Beyond - Pioneering Excellence

"Go the extra mile and unlock the thrill of being a pioneer" defines our commitment to excellence. If there’s anyone that emulates that value, it’s our CEO, Mark Ghermezian. Not only has he been a pioneer before, he constantly reinvents himself and challenges us to do the same. Going above and beyond isn't just about meeting requirements; it's about pioneering a culture of innovation and excellence.
